Boys Over Flowers(花より男子) - Korean Drama Review

Episodes: 25
Publishers: KBS
Genres: K-drama, Romance, Comedy
Hello fellow bloggers!  Cely_belly here!  I'd like to take this time to introduce you to a great drama. The Korean drama called Boys Over Flowers or better known Boys Before Flowers is based on the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango(花より男子).  There is a Japanese drama too, but when it comes to rock music it's all about J-rock. When it comes to pop music, it's all about K-pop.  As for drama, it's all about K-drama, no?

Well, I guess that's all a matter of opinion.  I can't say.  The only drama I watch is Spanish and Korean.  I can say that if you Google the drama, the majority of pics and links will lead you to this one ;)

Now, before you begin to think this has nothing to do with anime or Japan, you're wrong.  As aforementioned, this drama is based on a manga derived from our beloved land of the rising sun. So, this is pretty Japan - related.  I am warning you, though.  You will be coming across many "kyaas" and "ahhs." That's just me swooning over hot Korean actors.  I like Japanese boys, but Koreans - ahh. (I warned you).

Plot Summary:
Jan Di's family owns a dry cleaning store and lives an average life until one day, she makes a dry cleaning delivery at the prestigious Shinhwa High School and saves a student from jumping off the roof.  As a result, she is offered a swimming scholarship at this private school and ends up meeting F4 whom all students admire since they are four wealthy, handsome bachelors(kyaa).  At first Jandi is at war with F4 until she eventually falls in love with one of the members, Goo Joon Pyo.  Will he reciprocate her feelings? - via Crunchyroll

I haven't read the manga but I plan to.  I just decided to watch the drama first.  You see, I don't have much patience for manga.  The only reason I plan to read it later is because my friends were practically drooling over it some time ago.  And, if I don't cooperate, I'm afraid I may end up in a ditch somewhere . . .

The drama is a lot like the manga, from what I've heard.  It has a lot of up and down moments. Much like Kimi Ni Todoke, I get frustrated with the couple as they go through obstacle after obstacle.  And much like anime, there is a lot of violence.  A lot.

Kyaa!  (╥﹏╥)
If that didn't win you over, maybe this will . . .
Fanservice??  I think it's working ;)

Or, maybe you're into maids . . ?
"Goshuujin-sama . ."

No matter.  From the maids to the fanservice . . . this drama has it all.

The characters are funny and the drama is always there.  Not to mention, it has a great soundtrack.  My favorite song would be SHINee's single "Stand by me."

It was a joy to watch.  I didn't sleep much because of it. -_-  Compared to Coffee Prince, I don't know which is best.  They are excellent dramas I highly recommend.

Side Notes:
  • My friends won't actually throw me into a ditch, LOL. - I think.
  • Hot Korean actors!!! ~Kya  >.<
  • I love SHINee! - Go listen to their music . . GO NOUU!!
  • Have you read the manga?
