Two weeks has passed since the incident with Gai and Mana. Now, the center of the city has been blockaded. No phones, no TV, no internet- how boring. In hopes that the blockade will be lifted soon, many students outside of the blockade zone have gathered in school. Most of Funeral Parlor has separated, but others like Ayase and Tsugumi, even Daryl have taken shelter at school, blending in as students. And since there's nothing better to do (really?), the school decided to have a festival.
Saw this coming . . .
So, because a bunch of crazy wackos have decided to cause chaos, Shu and the others must save the day.
"Bleh!"
Of course! Ayase's droid are legs. LOL. She literally kicked ass in this episode.
And they made a pretty good team.
But, besides introducing Shu's new ability to lend someone their droid and Ayase's new android legs, this episode was just basically building up to introduce a bigger problem for them to face. GHQ and the government were planning to "eradicate" the area they were in.
More like, what will you do, Shu? What will you do . . .
Side Notes:
Overall, this episode was meh :/
Megane!! >.<
Check out the new OP and ED. I like the OP song, but I'm having a hard time adjusting to it. It doesn't feel right.
After School Tea Time! - was Fantastic! Their music was catchy and their story was pretty heartwarming. But my favorite aspect was their strong sense of friendship. That is something they portrayed perfectly and it touched me dearly.
Joining the light music club was the best thing Yui could have done. If only I watched this my senior year ~ weep. But it's cool . . I managed to keep in touch with my school friends. I still have Tea with one every now and then . . and yes I started having Tea time after watching K-ON! ~ Anime influenced. How can I not be . . the look in Yui's face is . . I couldn't resist! ^^
nom nom nom . . .
K-ON! - was probably one of the most popular series exposed last year 2010 - and I missed the whole hype, but I'm covering it now and I thought it was simply delightful. My first impressions revolved around music and well mostly music. But to my surprise, its beautiful portrayal of high school life was successfully delivered. The slice of life-ness was somewhat nostalgic to me and each and every character felt genuinely real. I found myself comparing people I know with these characters all the time.
Left to Right: Kotobuki, Tsumugi; Tainaka, Ritsu; Akiyama, Mio; Hirasawa, Yui; Nakano, Azusa
It was interesting to see each character portray such convincing - real emotions. I cried every time they shed tears, almost as if I were there crying with them. I can easily relate to each character. Maybe because I can relate to their situation. High School is such an intricate life stage most of us go through, and seeing them go through it, took me on the journey as well.
The addition of Azunyan made the group stronger in every aspect. She emphasized the group's genuine care and feelings. Azunyan's sense of loneliness was totally moé ;) No really, lets be serious.
This was totally moé!!
Being the only underclassman in the group added huge depth to her and each character. With Azunyan, they were able to experience the fear of drifting apart or losing her as a friend. Graduation is just another stage in life most of us go through. But only true friends stick it out til the end.
Of course, I can never forget about the music! I've been listening to them non-stop since I started. My new favorite band perhaps? I enjoy the OP's and ED's the best. I like how the OP's would have Yui sing and start off the show, while Mio would would sing you off in the ED's. I particularly enjoyed the ED's since they show more of a rebellious side to the girls - quite the contrary to their character's personality in the anime. Here are a few of my faves . . .
I don't believe this will be the last performance of the light music club. My anime senses are tingling and they say there is an upcoming K-ON! movie. The film is scheduled to open in over 130 theaters in Japan December 3 ~ via ANN. So look forward to it!
Government resistance couldn't be more epic! What seemed like the most anticipated series this fall, was even better than I expected. I was hooked since the start of the song - a very beautiful song, I might add.
Summary:
In Tokyo 2039, an unidentified virus outbreak had taken place 10 years ago called "Lost Christmas" and Ouma, Shu - a 17 year old boy somehow gets mixed up in it. He meet a young girl named Yuzuriha Inori, who happens to be the voice of the internet artist Egoist. And he just happens to be a fan of the internet sensation. Not only that, but she is also a member of the resistance guerrilla group called "Undertaker." The resistance rebels against the government's multinational organization called CHQ. That's when Shu's life changes and eventually obtains the power "Ability of the King" where a crown shape appears in his right hand and uses it to extract tools or weapons from his friends.
I honestly had no idea of the plot that was taking place, so I kinda had to read about it. I was just too busy admiring the music and visual effects. What always grabs my attention in anime's are the songs, so if an anime has a crappy story, but a great song, I'd probably watch it. Luckily, this anime has an interesting story AND a great soundtrack. If you're waiting for the soundtrack to be released like I am, the singles for the OP "My Dearest" is to be released November 23 and the ED "Departures" is released November 30, 2011.
I'd say that the anime definitely lived up to its hype. The OP(first episode only) was very interesting to see. You see Inori in one setting, as an internet sensation singing to a very sad song, then another setting, with her running for her life as she struggles with constant mecha attacks. That's great editing! It didn't get good until the end though. That was really something. I've got to watch Code Geass after this!
His game face is on! :O
I know what I must do . . .
What I wouldn't give for a huge weapon sigh. . . BRS, now Guilty Crown.This is torture . . . I must be a masochist.
BTW, does anyone know the song that was playing during the scene when he unleashes "The Ability of the King?" I'd really like to have it in my collection - meaning my Ipod.
A supernatural action packed comedy is the reason why I decided to watch it in the first place. I completely fell in love with Rin - isn't he the cutest? - and the story line looked pretty promising, at first. It was also really funny and at times pretty heartwarming, but the story seemed to be moving too fast. Overall, it was a pretty cool anime about exorcists fighting off demons,(simple: good vs. bad) but around the last episodes, the plot looked to be going nowhere. The ones working on it were probably trying to find a good ending and end it for good? I wonder if there will be a second season now, I mean, they still haven't defeated Satan! But despite the negatives, I don't regret watching it. I strongly suggest that you look into the openings and endings of this series. Seriously, Ao No Exorcist has the best songs!
ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D - IN MY WORLD
-Elfen Lied
Okay, my friend recommended me that I watch this anime . . and after the first episode I was like :O This anime blew my mind and gave me the creeps. Even the opening creeped me out. How many anime's do you know that open with a very depressing . . Latin song - not many I'll tell you that. The song is Lilium and it was especially requested by the director himself. At first I thought the song was a famous opera song or something, but no. I thought this song matched the anime perfectly and the animation was beautifully done. It's a work of art! - According to my art crazed friend. It was beautiful, yet full of gore . . nothing close to what I had originally anticipated. I honestly thought it was going to be a shoujo romantic/supernatural comedy. It turns out to be a psychological horror/romantic drama. At least I guessed the romance part. It's interesting to see a unique anime focus on the tragedies and hardships of life. The story is about Lucy, a Diclonius mutated girl who escapes her confines in which she was held and experimented on, who psychotically murders most of the guards in the laboratory only to get shot in the head as she makes her escape. She survives and manages to drift along a beach shore. Having lost her memories, that's when she meets Kuota. Despite the gore and brutality which highly amplifies the intensity of Lucy's life, it is very enriched with life and meaning. I thought it was a great anime, creepy and depressing, but great nonetheless. Watch it . . if you dare. P.S. For mature audiences only.
I haven't encountered a yaoi BL anime before and didn't think they would apply to me - not being a guy and all - but I was surprised to actually get more of the satisfaction from a romantic shounen than those other romances. Yaoi animes end with the couple actually together. All other romantic animes I've seen either don't show the couple together, or don't complete the series from the mangas. They kind of leave it up to you and your imagination sometimes and I'd prefer to not read the mangas. Gravitation was pretty popular for a yaoi, so I decided to watch this one along with Loveless. This slice of life is about a young man named Shuichi Shindou who aspires to be as famous as his idol "God" Ryuichi Sakuma. One night as he writes the lyrics for a song, his paper blows away and gets picked up by Eiri Yuki. Yuki who is a famous novelist tells him his writing is no better than a grade school level. Not realizing he was experiencing love at first sight, Shuichi pursues Eiri Yuki and their love begins. My first impressions of the series weren't too good. It started off pretty boring and I wasn't sure where it was going . . then the story got more interesting and my appreciation for the characters grew. Shuichi was a favorite of mine, being the funniest character, and dressing up in dog costumes was pretty hilarious too. Overall, Shuichi and Yuki's relationship had a good amount of drama and baggage, but it definitely could've been better.
-Loveless
Loveless was originally one of the first anime's I had in my watch list. The name caught my interest and it was interesting to see an anime that revolved around a neko world. In the anime, the neko-like beings were all kids, or rather people who still had their virginity in tact. Once these people lost their virginity, they would lose their cat ears and . . tails. This yaoi is about a 12 year old boy Aoyagi Ritsuka who is left alone with his abusive mother after his brother Seimei was killed. After attending a new school, he meets Soubi, a young man who claims to know his brother. Soubi and Seimei were originally a fighting pair with Soubi as his "fighter" and Seimei as the "Sacrifice." Now that Ritsuka inherits Soubi as his fighter, he discovers the organization who killed his brother and plans to investigate further into his brother's death with the help of Soubi along the way. Overall, I enjoyed this series far better than Gravitation. One of my favorite genres are supernatural and it was interesting to see the story develop. The anime doesn't finish according to the mangas, but I wouldn't mind reading the mangas and finishing the story. The drama and romance were much more enticing. Even though I do find the romance here a little more taboo . .I recommend this to any yaoi crazy fan. Plus the opening has a really great song.
