Successful Home Business: Five Steps To Success

Success in any endeavor depends on a target this holds true when attempting to create a successful home business. Simple activity can be rewarding but it usually won't have us end up in a predictable place. Think about it this way to see the point we are making here. Simply shooting a gun in the air is activity. Nailing a target to a tree and then aiming and hitting the bulls eye is more in line with the idea of success provided that is what you intended to accomplish.
To further simplify success I like to break it down into five categories.
  1. Create the end result to be achieved. Or name the the objective.
  2. Devise a plan to achieve the result.
  3. Follow through with the plan.
  4. Make changes if needed.
  5. Then repeat until achieved
An easy to remember and empowering summary of this categorical approach:
Know what you want to accomplish, plan on achieving it, take action, analyze, and repeat

You may have heard it said that " Focused effort produces results", and that is so true when it comes to having success in any area. Taking the time to focus and know what it is that you are focusing on in the moment is crucial to reaping the rewards that come with that bit of success wisdom.

All of us suffer what is sometimes called the "human condition" and what this means is there are common things that occur when we look at people and how they behave. Some call it personality quirks or personality types. Let's look at common situations that show up when people are having difficulty achieving success.

First the person who just can't seem to get going. They are constantly floundering about with no real direction. Some call these people late bloomers or drifters or dreamers. They struggle with the first category, which is create an end result to be achieved. These people are usually quite motivated they just lack direction. Sometimes I have found that associating an end result with a feeling works great with people who struggle to actually commit to an end result to be achieved. They are many times free spirited people who value freedom and the thought of committing to a specific end result is a confining idea. Try attaching an immense feeling of freedom to the objective you are wanting to experience.

The second person knows exactly what they want. They are getting ready to get ready. This person is waiting for or creating the perfect set of circumstances. They have a very specific plan and as they move to take action they realize one more variable of what could possibly happen and they do not yet have an answer as to what they will do. So they stay stuck in the planning phase. This person would find a better approach to be breaking the objective into a couple smaller parts. When one part is accomplished they could move on to the next. Realize conditions are never ever perfect. Creating a success just does not and will not work that way. Put a time frame on it and get going.

The Third person knows what they want and they have devised a plan but somewhere along the way they just loose their motivation and don't take the required action. Here is an idea for this problem, Keep the objective in the forefront of your mind and make sure it is compelling to you. Plan to reward yourself with something motivates you when you reach success.

The fourth person may encounter some resistance and many times this can be a flaw in the plan. Trying and failing at one approach over and over is not going to get the job done. Stop and take a look at the new circumstances and tweak the plan a bit. Nothing is set in stone. Just because the approach you had choosen did not pan out does not mean your doomed forever. Come up with a better way and get moving.

The fifth person is the one who has not realized the power of persistence. Persistence is almost alway's require when we want to achieve success in any area. Persist until you achieve the result your after of until a better approach is more obvious. This one trait alone is responsible for the fast majority of true accomplishments or successes.
