Best Business To Start.

What is the Best Business to Start?

I'd like to offer my objective advice on choosing the best business to start, not because you asked me too, but because this is my blog, and its about starting a business, not so much the technical aspect, but the mindset.

I would love your honest feedback, if you have a minute, and a thought.

The best business to start is more about inspiration and desire and whether the business is aligned with your purpose in life. I think to many people start business that they see as "businesses they can start". What would happen if more people started a business based on " if I could start any business, what would it be"?

Micheal Gerber in his book "The E-Myth", talks about the entrepreneurial moment and why some many small business start ups fail. According to the book, and based on statics, over 90% of small business start ups fail in the first 5 years.... Why?

People think the best business to start is somehow attached to what they know how to do. The best job to start is based on what you know how to do. The best degree to get is based on what you want to be. Maybe the best business to start should be based on what you want to be. I see starting a business to be a lot like starting an educational program.

A Business Degree.

Business is constant learning, there are requirements, certain things you have to do well on. You need to study particular parts of you business individually and be able to see how the interconnectedness of the parts create a synergy that makes success possible, right? That sounds a lot like what a degree would require, doesn't it?

Choosing the best business opportunities to start based on who you want to be is an intelligent approach and in reality is what the other 10% of business owners do. Many successful small business owners talk about when they were kids they got an idea, or had a neighbor who they thought were really cool who had a business. Many people who start business want to be someone who makes an impact.

A Book Keeping Business or a Book Keeper?

The thing is, what you do right now may be offering insight, opportunity, and clues to what inspires you and your entrepreneurial spirit. Many times people use there technical knowledge as a platform to start hugely successful businesses. But keep in mind the thing you do is not the end. In other words, a book keeping business, won't be about keeping books. It could be about creating a solution that would allow small business owners to know exactly where they stood at all times to better make decisions. Decisions based on facts instead of fears, fads, or whims?

If you were driven by helping others, being creative, and being accurate, a book keeping business might be the best business for you to start.... And what would you do as the owner of that business? You would look for the best book keepers right? Book keepers who saw there job as a way to help others, be accurate and contribute to the market place.

What do these thoughts mean to you. Do you disagree? Why some people start businesses and others work for the people who start businesses?
