Yes and No. The term "business opportunities" has at best, been a long sufferer of a chronic identity crisis. In the time I've been interested in the Internet as a viable opportunity to earn a significant income without investing a ton of money or more importantly a ton of time, I've been baffled some of the perceptions people have about business opportunities. I thought I'd write an article about what I've learned, what you can expect, and how best to approach the world wide web in terms of entrepreneurial pursuits.

The business opportunities you see advertised online via google AdSense, banner ads, and text links are mostly turnkey business opportunities for making money from home. So in essence, at the end of the day, what is the "opportunity"?

• Do you have a way to earn a significant income from home now?
• Do you have an Internet connection, telephone, and a desire to work from home?
• Would you like to earn extra income besides a job?
• Do you currently have a plan to create passive income?

A online based business opportunity is a chance to realise these things mentioned. It is not a guarantee. Its not a sign and drive affair and in a sign and drive world, its important to take a minute and realise what that means.

First off, if your thinking about starting an online business opportunity, almost without exception you will play the role of marketer. You will be using the Internet as a tool to attract clients,customers, or associates to your business. Online marketing is multi-faceted ordeal that I find fascinating and challenging at the same time. Using the Internet to make money creates opportunities that otherwise would be an arrogant dream. I've talked with people in four different countries in the same one hour period while following up with potential customers, something totally new to me and impossible without an online presence.

That's pretty simple. You just use your good old fashion common sense. Whats that mean?

With that being said, some opportunities offer greater Potential profits than others. Not that it needs mentioning, because we all have common sense, but different opportunities operate in different industries and those industries affect the viability of the opportunity as a profitable online business opportunity.

Look for what fits. That's pretty simple and its good advice. In my opinion, starting out marketing affiliate products online without even having a website is not a good route to take. Now that doesn't make affiliate marketing a bad business model, it just makes it bad if your new to the Internet marketing world and don't have a platform to market from.

The best degree to get is based on what you want to be. Maybe the best business to start should be based on what you want to be. I see starting a business to be a lot like starting an educational program.

Business is constant learning, there are requirements, certain things you have to do well on. You need to study particular parts of you business individually and be able to see how the interconnectedness of the parts create a synergy that makes success possible, right? When planning a business you must define success. A business plan that defines success as market share, position in market niche, or % of yearly or quarterly growth, is silly and creates maniacal people. A strong business plan starts with you the entrepreneur. What effect does the business going here or there have on you, your dreams, aspirations, and objectives in life? Creating an academic, manipulative, document of architecture that describes the intended path of a business is silly. Business doesn't work that way.



Business planning that is approached from a perspective of need is silly. Creating a Business plan so a bank will give you money? Its like intelligent begging. What about a business plan that doesn't need the banks money? Could a great business plan be contingent on an idea that seeds itself? Could the core business philosophy create movement in the business. A business that is underway produces data, observables, trends, right?



Alternative Business Plan.



Maybe when a person starts with the end in mind, their end result. The result they want. Maybe from this perspective the business doesn't need a "plan" but effort. Another or maybe alternative way to approach a business plan is to create momentum. When I first started my online business I realized that the key to earning a consistent income was to generate leads. I asked some questions and determined the different ways a person could market or advertise to generate leads.

One thing that I did not do was to set up a lead management or marketing System that would not only capture, store, and track my prospects or leads, but also manage them when I contacted them on the phone.

What does a lead management service do? Well, when you have a person request a call back, either from a website or a 1-800 number, where do they go. By saying they, I mean there info? Well with a lead management system they go to what is called a back office or control panel.

Some lead management systems have auto responders built right in with emails that can be pre-loaded. You can have them written for you or write them yourself. When I contact a lead there is usually one of a dozen possible outcomes that occur. Based on these outcomes, I simply click a box and everything is taken care of for me.

Home business marketing has many variances depending on the business, the product, or the service. The marketing system can be built around your particular business. I remember having pads of paper around, trying to remember who I needed to follow up with, who wanted to get started and who never wanted to talk with me again. It was frustrating.

You can do yourself a favor and get a good lead management system, it will save you a ton of time. You can google "lead management system" and you will likely find an array of different systems. I use a great system, it cost 30 buck a month and comes with an auto responder and a great management system. Remember an auto responder is not enough.
